daffodils…

sometimes the only thing you can do is go outside and pick some flowers…

which is exactly what tricia and i did yesterday morning. brisk air, kids running around laughing, and a gorgeous sweep of yellow and white…

$5 for a bunch & dorothy will be doing it next weekend too out at the flower field.

the white ones smell heavenly…and smiled at me first thing this morning.

love.

dashing in for a spell…

i keep starting posts – and stopping – because there is so much happening that i get pulled away and can’t finish. creative (& not so) deadlines, priceless time with soul sisters, luscious anusara yoga training, a compassionate cleanse i’m leading, gorgeous meditation time, and feeling my roots back in the studio…all awesome and hugely, beautifully, life-affirming and expanding. so, while i feel as though i say things like – i’ll post, i’ll write, i’ll tell you all about it – and then never get back to it (with all the best intentions of course), but really? are my rio pictures so relevent to you now? …sigh…

i will say this…being “awake” and “saying yes to life” totally busted me wide open. oh 2010 how i love you.

happy spring my lovelies…the goddess is beaming.

oh yes she is…

elizabeth is on her way here…right now. as in she is at the airport. oh yes she is!

squam by the sea planning and general other-worldly girliness will abound from my humble abode here at the beach. the boy-man is travelling so we have the house all to ourselves…and i’m thinking that wine and cheese and pajamas and uppercase magazine drool-fests will be in order. not to mention massage, shirodhara treatments, and um, YOGA, dune walks, oh and all that work stuff too. can you call it work when it is so much fun?

& isn’t she pretty…

beautiful habits to cultivate…

eight ways to tap into the power of intention and feel great every day:

  1. make meditation a regular practice in your life. you need to take time to get quiet, to go within, and from this silence make conscious contact with the source of intention. you’re already connected to everything that you perceive as missing from your life; go with a realign.
  2. become conscious of the foods you eat. foods high in alkalinity such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, soy, non-yeast breads and virgin olive oil are high-energy foods and will strengthen you, while highly acidic foods such as flour-based cereals, meats, dairy and sugars lower energy and will weaken you.
  3. retreat from low-energy substance. alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, sugar and virtually all artificial drugs, legal or otherwise, lower your body’s energy level and weaken you.
  4. become aware of the energy level of the music you listen to. some music—filled with profanity and messages about killing, for example—is an energy drain, while music that has a more soothing impact on the soul has been proven to be beneficial.
  5. become aware of the energy levels of your home environment. make your home a nurturing, cheerful and peaceful environment.
  6. reduce your exposure to low-energy commercial television. children see 12,000 simulated murders on tv before their 14th birthday! television news puts a heavy emphasis on the bad and the ugly, leaving out the good.
  7. enhance your energy field with photographs. every photograph contains energy. carry and display photos taken in moments of happiness, love and receptivity.
  8. become conscious of the energy levels of your acquaintances, friends and extended family. choose to be in close proximity to those who are empowering, who see the greatness in you, who feel connected to spirit.

hello all…still playing catch up here and deep into writing an article. as i’m feeling a wee bit unbalanced right now, i found these words of wisdom a timely reminder and pathway back to my center…

have a lovely weekend, and i hope the sun shines down upon you.

oh the drama…

laptop drama…

as in… motherboard fried, do not resuscitate.

as in… i challenged the data gods and lost.

as in…back up your life!

thankfully, more was actually saved than lost (thank you rugged lacie drive!) and yet needless to say ~ i’m behind ~ as i try to gather those remaining and precious bits and bytes. so this is a quick wave to say “hello!” and i’ll be back with pictures and stories to share…

oh and here’s another one from rio…the day i found out the laptop was totally done…the look on my face kind of says it all! though i also see a wee bit of a mischievous smile. wonder what i was up to…
